Baby Mae ~ Austin Texas Home Newborn Photography

It’s such an honor and, to be honest, a THRILL for me to be invited over for a home newborn session. I love to see you in your element and capture your family in this most sacred space: the place you brought baby home to.

I’ve been an Austin, TX newborn photographer for going on NINE years now, and it’s hard to believe I almost gave up this particular genre (newborn photography) back in the beginning stages of my business. Why? Basically because I was a little scared of babies, and inexperienced in handling them. Sessions took longer than they should have before I learned new soothing and swaddling techniques and streamlined processes (it certainly helped when I became a parent, myself!). Everyone has to start somewhere, though, and I’m so thankful for the beautiful families who gave me a chance to hone this skill in the beginning - many of you are on your second and third children by now, and watching your families grow is such a privilege.

There truly are so many wonderful newborn photographers in and around Austin, and each time a family books with me, my heart does a little backflip in my chest. :) Newborn photos with an experienced photographer are no small investment, and you pay for a lot more than just your photographer’s time at the shoot and behind-the-scenes while editing. You are paying for the YEARS of honing a craft - in practice, in style, in business, and in the community.

I don’t take it lightly when I receive a contract for another sweet newborn session. I know the power of these images, to invoke the memories of this exhausting, fleeting, love-filled time. And my goal is to produce images that will only skyrocket in value to you over the years.

It’s never too early to get your due date on my calendar. 2-6 months prior is recommended, particularly if your due date falls during peak seasons like March-May or September-December. You can browse examples in our Southwest Austin Studio here, and in-home sessions here.
